About the Abu Garcia Ambassadeur
The Abu Garcia Ambassadeur multiplier
reel utilises a Mag Brake system which works extremely well. The reel
also features excellent backlash protection. Setting the brake to high
will limit the distance you can cast but if you're new to multiplier
reels then a high setting would be safest until you get used to casting
with your new reel and reduce the risk of a huge birds nest. When
you're used to the reel and casting you can loosen off the break until
you find the setting which gives you the greatest distance with the
minimum amount of backlash. When fishing at night I advise you to
tighten the brake up a couple of notches to be on the safe side as you
don't want to be untangling a huge birds nest in the middle of the
night. Most multiplier reels have about 10 different settings to choose
from.
